Role: SUPRA Database Administrator
Location: Aberdeen, MD / Remote
Education/Certifications: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or related
Years of Experience: 10+ years as DBA
Clearance Level & Investigation: Tier 3 or equivalent (ADP/IT-II)
IT Level (AR 25-2): IT-II or NACLC
IA Cert Level (DoD 8570.01): IAT Level II
Computing Environment Certifications: Relevant certification from nationally recognized authority (preferred)
Job Description:
- Responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance for SUPRA DB to ensure performance and reliability of MOCAS.
- Perform DB updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain system.
- Monitor DB health and address issues tied to performance, storage, and/or connectivity.
- Ensure DB structure, including schemas, tables, indexes and relationships, are identified and documented appropriately to support business requirements.
- Work with DISA operations team to optimize DB performance through analysis of DB execution.
- Ensure DB integrity and consistency across SUPRA DB environment.
- Implement security measures to protect data stored in SUPRA databases, including access controls and encryption.
- Ensure compliance with DoW policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and address potential security vulnerabilities in database environment.
- Develop and work with DISA to ensure robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data in case of system failures or disasters.
- Support DISA in ensuring regular backups are performed and test recovery procedures to ensure data availability.
- Minimize downtime during recovery operations and ensure business continuity.
Required Minimum Education:
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or closely related discipline.
Required Minimum Experience:
- 10+ years of overall professional experience as a DBA.
- Must have knowledge and expertise of the following: DB installation, configuration and maintenance; DB design and optimization; Data Security and Compliance; DB Backup and Recovery procedures; Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting; Testing and QA; Documentation and Reporting.
Required Clearance:
- Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).
Certifications:
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority preferred.
- DoW Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II
