Job Description:

Qualifications:

  • Requires either associate’s degree in related field OR 3 years’ related field experience providing AV support.
  • Must acquire & maintain Secret Clearance.
  • Requires InfoComm International Certification in Audiovisual Technology (minimum); InfoComm International Certification (CTS) in Audio Visual Technology Installation (preferred) – must remain current throughout performance with no lapse in recertification.
  • Must have solid oral & written communication skills.
  • Requires basic Crestron, AMX, Biamp, & Extron training (at minimum).
  • Must have basic knowledge/understanding of all equipment settings re: normal operation of AV & IT systems.
  • Requires ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have ability to climb/work at heights of 20 feet.

Responsibilities:

The AV Specialist provides daily on-site operational and sustainment support for installed classroom AV equipment (hardware, software, and ancillary / associated items of equipment, to include networking and TEAMS video conferencing for classrooms). Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily on-site operational & sustainment support, including daily maintenance, log of performance tasks, customer requests, & known issues.
  • Utilize Enterprise Service Management to track & capture workload.
  • Capture daily / weekly sustainment reporting requirements via SharePoint ticketing system & SharePoint Repository.
  • Provide status reporting of daily activities, recurring or significant issues, classroom maintenance/preventative maintenance checks / services, & problems resolved.
  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance of AV equipment by cleaning/dusting projectors & AV equipment cabinet as needed.
  • Change projector filters & projector lamps as required.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, & resolve classroom equipment performance issues; replace parts as required.
  • Serve as classroom support representative & maintain routine communications with Customer; perform weekly inventory of shelf stock equipment / items.
  • Maintain Common Operating Picture (COP) of all classrooms.
  • Assist on-site Government personnel with daily classroom operation of AV equipment, including user training as needed
  • Provide on-site AV expertise for classrooms.
  • Ensure all classrooms maintained in fully functional state / operating as designated to perform Government training.
  • Enter sustainment tickets into SharePoint ticketing system & monitor tickets until successful completion / ticket close-out.
  • Maintain proper accountability of equipment / repair parts to support daily troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance for classrooms
  • Report daily issue of bulbs / repair parts by classroom in repository.
  • Coordinate with technical support POCs to resolve troubleshooting issues & return classrooms to fully functional status.
  • Interpret AV signal flow wiring diagrams / schematics; repair communication cabling as needed.
  • Document shipping & receiving of classroom AV equipment repair/replacement parts, including documenting incoming / outgoing materials, labeling, packaging, & shipment of material as required.
  • Produce audio products for presentations, ceremonies, conferences, & events; set up equipment for use.
  • Receive requests for AV equipment & set up to record ceremonies (e.g., change-of-command, retirements, awards, special occasions, presentations, & other events, as well as multiday conferences).
  • Coordinate with customers to determine AV requirements; conduct site surveys to verify access to power outlets, furniture arrangements, & number of speakers required.
  • Determine quantity & configuration position of equipment, pack, transport to and from work site, install, adjust, maintain, & operate AV equipment, supporting events.
  • Test systems prior to presentation / ceremony, set up & operate AV equipment, monitor output during presentations, adjust audio mixers, filters, & acoustic equalizers to prevent distortion / ensure high-quality sound reproduction.
  • Develop & manage AV loaner program by maintaining, issuing, & receiving AV equipment.
  • Provide instructions & briefings on use of AV systems / instructional technology equipment.
  • Perform AV setup of equipment for special events.
  • Maintain daily log of work performed; provide monthly reports on completed / pending work.
  • Create SharePoint tickets for each classroom issue reported; create tickets as needed to address classroom issues.
  • Respond to classroom service requests within 2 hours & complete work within 4 hours; respond to all other service requests within 4 hours and complete work within 8 hours.
