Qualifications:
The Junior MS System Administrator requires the following minimum skills and expertise:
- 3+ years’ experience with the following:
- Progressively responsible experience in desktop support & administration, including supporting, troubleshooting, & managing workstations, monitors, VTC, & printers.
- Installing software, patching software, & troubleshooting software configuration.
- Equipment inventory management & turn in process.
- 2+ years’ experience with printer support/maintenance.
- Requires TS/SCI clearance with SBI & ability to attain SI, TK, G, HCS, & NATO Secret clearance.
- Requires DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II/Intermediate certification.
Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, configuration, administration & monitoring of end-user IT automation equipment to include baseline imaging, performance optimization, patching, & updating of associated hardware/underlying operating systems.
- Perform maintenance & functionality checks of conference rooms to ensure computer, video-teleconference, & voice IT equipment operational; submit/track related trouble-tickets while coordinating with external support directorates to restore functionality.
- Identify, prioritize, track, & resolve end-user automation & IT hardware/software issues/problems to maintain 99% system availability rate.
- Provide comprehensive inventory & automation capability matrices of office workspace & associated automation equipment on monthly basis or as requested.
- Analyze technical support requests; provide technical solutions & courses of action within 10 business days of receipt.
- Conduct testing of automation equipment & end-user applications immediately after configuration changes & software deployments to validate that changes/enhancements do not adversely affect system operation & performance.
- Respond to customer support requests.
- Develop & maintain documentation including SOPs, TTPs, system architecture guides, & diagrams for all end-user automation equipment/hardware configurations adhering to organizational templates & policies.
- Notify Government of unscheduled system outages within 30 minutes of each occurrence & record outage to operations log within 4 hours.
- Monitor & assume responsibility of trouble tickets assigned to Desktop Support Administration branch, assign specific tickets for resolution, & prioritize tickets in line with organizational goals of maintaining 99% system availability rate.
- Coordinate with Property Book Office to manage equipment issue & turn-in process for end-user IT equipment; conduct asset inventory management & update existing database as required in event of equipment adds, moves, & deletes.
- Perform daily printer management duties to include ensuring printers filled with paper & toner supply adequate for continued operation; coordinate with building providers of consumable supplies & replace as needed.
- Provide after-hours on-site support to respond to system/application malfunctions; escalate unresolved issues to Project Manager.
