Job Description:
Qualifications:
The Senior MS Systems Administrator requires the following minimum skills and expertise:
- 8+ years’ experience with the following:
- Progressively responsible experience in server administration, including supporting & managing servers in production environment.
- Server administration in MS Windows environments (MS Windows Server 2016 & later configurations) to include performance monitoring, tuning, & making recommendations to improve overall system performance/application efficiency.
- 5+ years’ experience with the following:
- Identifying & analyzing server requirements; planning design & deployment of new technologies/upgrades.
- Applying industry best practices on Windows Server 2016 & later OS encompassing configuration, implementation, & security.
- Mentoring junior personnel on proper practices/procedures.
- Applying systems patches & STIGs on MS Windows Server 2016 & later.
- 4+ years’ experience with the following:
- Management experience.
- MS Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
- Using PowerShell/scripting languages to automate common & repeat tasks.
- 3+ years’ experience with the following:
- Serving as team leader working as part of team & independently to assign/review immediate tasks, set priorities, maintain task progress, validate team members’ work consistent with organizational goals/deadlines.
- Requires TS/SCI clearance with SBI & ability to attain SI, TK, G, HCS, & NATO Secret clearance.
- Requires Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MSCA) or Windows Server 2012/ Windows Server 2016 Certification.
- Requires DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II /Intermediate certification.
Responsibilities:
- Support identification & resolution of automation & IT hardware/software issues/problems to maintain at least 99% system availability rate.
- Perform administration & maintenance of Windows based servers to include daily system checks & record 100% of findings/statuses in Systems Administration Daily Checks list; responsible for maintaining, reporting, & updating daily checklists.
- Ensure all Microsoft Windows Server & applicable installed features/applications have latest DISA STIGs applied within 30 calendar days of release; annotate findings/remediation steps within checklists & upload to STIG management portals; notify Government & TTM of any critical findings that cannot be remediated within 3 days of discovery.
- Apply vendor security updates & hotfixes to address ACAS findings/organizational security mandates within 14 calendar days of notification of update availability.
- Provide detailed system matrices of supported systems & applications to include utilization, uptime, storage availability, & monthly performance or as requested.
- Analyze technical support requests & provide possible technical solutions/courses of action within 10 business days of receipt of request.
- Conduct testing of systems & applications immediately after configuration changes/software deployments to validate that changes & enhancements do not adversely affect system operation & performance.
- Deploy custom-developed, third-party COTS, & GOTS applications to production, integration, & staging servers within 2 business days of deployment request while adhering to organizational software deployment windows & Government direction.
- Conduct system upgrades as directed by leadership.
- Ensure availability & accessibility of approximately 20 MS IIS for Windows Server websites hosted across 5 networks.
- Respond to customer requests.
- Provide Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning, evaluation, & execution of critical IT services bi-annually (twice per year) & update any required SOPs/instructions guides within 5 days of COOP exercise completion.
- Develop & maintain documentation including SOPs, TTPs, system architecture guides, & diagrams for all systems/hardware configurations adhering to organizational templates/policies as required.
- Notify Government of any unscheduled system outages within 30 minutes of each occurrence & record outage to operations log within 4 hours.
- Ensure configuration management data updated within 1 business day of any modification or update of infrastructure.
- Monitor & assume responsibility of trouble tickets assigned to Systems Administration branch, assign specific tickets for resolution, & prioritize tickets in line with organizational goals of maintaining 99% system availability rate.
- Provide after-hours on-site support to respond to system/application malfunctions; escalate unresolved issues to Project Manager.
