The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all engineering activities. This position directs, oversees, and supports delivery of new capabilities and projects; effectively troubleshoots issues spanning multiple disciplines; assists with health monitoring of Operating System (OS), routers, switches, application processes, and services; creates and maintains networks, system, transmissions, and voice documentation and reporting. The Chief Engineer provides support for administration of Cisco, Linux, Microsoft (MS), NetApp, Red Hat, Kubernetes, storage appliances and cloud-based solutions and Virtual based systems, including communications applications, IA server and client software systems, email, printing services, software license administration, file sharing and storage services, backup services, routers, switches, and other related systems or components. This position will work with network, systems, transport, and voice engineering on infrastructure technical support activities to correct issues with Information Systems (ISs) at multiple CENTCOM locations.
Qualifications:
The Chief Engineer must have the following minimum qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience (in a combatant command) engineering IT solutions for NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and Mission Partner Environment/Coalition Environment (or other coalition network environments), 2 years’ relevant experience with the DoD, and 5 years’ relevant experience within the civilian sector.
- DoD 8570.01 M compliance for IAT Level III with one of the following: Virtual Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or a higher-level Virtual Certification, or NetApp Certified Engineer (NCIE).
- Background must include 3+ years’ experience performing relevant networks, systems, transport, or voice engineering, implementation, and administration work within a combatant command.
- Technical experience with DoD and coalition networks to include NIPR, SIPR, SIPR/REL, MPE, Zero Trust principals and Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) architecture.

Responsibilities:
- Additional roles and responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and design engineering processes that improve ability to rapidly deploy and increase return on investments made throughout CENTCOM AOR.
- Design networks, systems, transmissions, and voice architecture that improve and align strategies and goals around higher headquarters.
- Design networks, systems, transmissions, and voice architecture that are modular in nature and enable Customer to reduce IT systems implementation costs and provide a means of incrementally scaling services as needed.
- Support stakeholder meetings, staff meetings, and engineering meetings for E&I.
- Provide Operations Leadership technical assistance and advice involving engineering architecture and solutions required to implement technical capabilities to warfighter.
- Maintain supervisory responsibilities over all networks, systems, transmissions, and voice contract workforce within Customer environment.
- Support creation, maintenance, and submission of Engineering Management Documentation.
