Role: Test Engineer

Education/Certifications: BA/BS; MA/MS in related field can substitute for 3 years of experience.
Years of Experience: 5+ years as a Test Engineer & working knowledge of DoDI 5000 & Defense Acquisition; MA/MS can substitute for 3 years of experience (2+ years total); additional 5 years of related experience can be used in lieu of degree (10+ years total)
Clearance Level & Investigation: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Job Description:
- Assist the Government by providing expertise in the development of documentation for programs, including, but not limited to test and evaluation master plans.
- Analyze the programs/systems for integration, fielding, demonstration, experiments, exercises, and testing.
- Conduct systems architectural and interoperability analysis for systems, to include, but not limited to, testing of network communication with other United States Army systems and platforms; resolution of issues identified related to system integration, emplacement, and interconnection; and theater network architectures of the systems as appropriate.
- Use a SIL for system integration and development to improve the systems capabilities, commonality, and interoperability.
- Support payload/system integration with Army host platforms at both Government and third-party test sites, to include hardware installation, software integration and interoperability test, and system functionality and performance verification.
- Assist with the review and document maintenance of test plans, events, and reports.
- Provide support in the conduct and evaluation of all tests, both internal and by equipment manufacturers.
- Provide support for the verification and validation of Government test exercises and demonstrations including Army Test and Evaluation Command safety, capabilities and limitations testing, production acceptance testing, operational testing, electromagnetic environmental effects testing, and baseline changes and modifications.
- Monitor and support developmental test and evaluation (DT&E), operational test and evaluation (OT&E), family-of-systems interoperability testing, and modeling and simulation (M&S) activities required during the life cycle of systems.
- Monitor and support experiments to characterize system operational performance and operational effectiveness, suitability, survivability, and safety testing of commercial and non-developmental items.
- Participate in vendor testing oversight and the conduct of Government acceptance testing at the direction of the Government.
- Assist the Government in the development and maintenance of detailed lists for all systems and subcomponent configurations, including operational tests.
- Manage and update technical data to ensure test and evaluation requirements are incorporated.
- Assist the Government by coordinating test and training events with outside organizations.
- Observe site acceptance testing (SAT) of Aerostat equipment performed by Contractors on-site at locations CONUS or OCONUS, record results using Government approved test reports and test procedures, and report results to Customer.
Qualifications:
- 5 or more years as a Test Engineer & working knowledge of DoDI 5000 & Defense Acquisition
- BA/BS or higher.
- Must have a top secret (TS) clearance with the ability to obtain sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- An additional 5 years of experience in a related field may be substituted for education.
- A Master’s degree or higher in a related field may be substituted for 3 years of experience.
