Responsibilities:

  • Administers and supports daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstations, file servers, and web servers.
  • Typical duties involve installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and implement network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services.
  • Train staff on software applicable to position, assist customers with information technology, monitor system configuration (hardware and software), and provide instruction on computers and applications.
  • Provide computer and network operation and maintenance, hardware installations, software installations, reconfigurations, diagnostic testing, systems analysis, troubleshooting, and repair of specified IT networking resources.
  • Install, configure, test, operate, maintain, and manage network hardware (e.g., switches, routers, cables, and protective distribution systems (PDS)), software, and operating systems that permit sharing of information across full spectrum of transmissions using all media.
  • Implement and operate network services and systems to include hardware and virtual environments.
  • Provide system and network administration support, including installation, operations, maintenance, disaster recovery, and administration of standalone workstations/server systems, networked workstations/server systems, and LANs.
  • Perform additional actions required to support electronic classroom deployment.
  • Attend meetings and submit associated reports.
  • Provide phone/email helpdesk support; use incident tracking & solution database.
  • Install, update, and troubleshoot systems, servers, workstations, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
  • Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software, including Microsoft Windows, Linux, Hewlett Packard (HP) Unix and Solaris.
  • Diagnose faulty system/server hardware.
  • Perform repairs on faulty system/server hardware.
  • Manage system/server resources, including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.

Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of system management experience.
  • Bachelor’s level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems desired but not required.
  • Requires IAT Level II certification, covered by one of the following: CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+); CompTIA Security; EC-Council Certified Network Defense (CND) v3; Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA); CCNA Security; Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP); GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC); or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).
  • Must maintain a Secret clearance / T3 investigation and be a U.S. citizen.
