Qualifications:
- Target Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or an equivalent science, technology, engineering & mathematics (STEM) degree from an accredited college or university.
- Target Experience: Eight (8) years’ experience with writing policies, technical documents, strategic plans, designs, cybersecurity operations and procedures, as well as presenting and explaining those products to executives.
- Must be U.S. citizen and hold active or interim Secret clearance.
General Duties Include: Develop, write, and edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instructions books, catalogs and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment. Act as supervisor to other Technical Writers. Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail. Interview production and engineering personnel and read journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods. Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of work and revisions. Edit material prepared by other writers or personnel. May specialize in writing material regarding work methods and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Cybersecurity Program Implementation and Policy Writer Support Services by performing the following duties:
- Support writing and documenting of high-level policies or strategies for Cybersecurity (CS) as guided by Government, including technical documentation such as user manuals, reports, documentation, presentations, proposals, outlines, and summaries; provide weekly updates regarding assigned projects and tasks, including percentage of completion, concerns/issues.
- Provide consultation, guidance, and portfolio management for systems and software in compliance with Navy, DoD, and federal requirements and policies.
- Provide configuration management and software reengineering consultation to facilitate application consolidation, migration, and retirement.
- Provide support for CS program activities including developing and maintaining POA&Ms; tracking status; providing scheduling for CS program reviews; maintaining CS website content management; documenting milestones and issues; document scanning; submitting metrics; and preparing presentations and final deliverable reports, as required.
- Track and respond to CS data calls per Government guidance, including assistance with word processing, spreadsheet creation or compilation, copying and filing documents, and creating reports, memos, and similar Microsoft Office documents; may also include supporting facilitation of media destruction and coordination/planning for meetings and CS audits.
