Cybersecurity Program Manager

The Cybersecurity Program Manager will provide technical expertise in cybersecurity and assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of a cybersecurity program compliant with DODI 8510.01 and DODI 8500.01 and current US Air Force, DoD, and other Federal cybersecurity policies. Assist Information System Security Manager with oversight of the cybersecurity program for information systems or networks, including managing information security implications within the organization, specific program, or other area of responsibility, to include strategic, personnel, infrastructure, requirements, policy enforcement, emergency planning, security awareness, and other resources.

Responsibilities include:

  • Enforce all DoD IS, Platform-IT system, and software application cybersecurity policies and procedures, as defined by cybersecurity-related documentation
  • Ensure that all DoD IS cybersecurity-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals
  • Develop recommendations for program and system specific cybersecurity policies and procedures
  • Assist with informal on-the-job training of rotational military customers on cybersecurity requirements and USAF/DoD specific policies and procedures
  • Assist in review of all proposed system or software application changes against DOD/USAF and the latest NIST standards
  • Provide technical assistance for network administrative staff
  • Establish data ownership and responsibilities (including accountability, access, and special handling requirements) for each Information System (IS) and software application
  • Updating the Vulnerability Tracking Resource Tools as needed and conducting security data calls as needed
  • Complete monthly account audits
  • Review and analyze system audit logs
  • Review ports, protocols, and services (PPS)
  • Ensure implementation of periodic security inspections, assessments, tests, and reviews
  • Execute vulnerability assessments scans
  • Analyze and interpret vulnerability assessment results
  • Participate in staff assistance and compliance visits
  • Assist system program managers with maintaining Plans of Action and Milestones documentation for any non-compliant security controls
  • Conduct Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Compliance assessments
  • Provide input and recommendations to Government personnel for all management, operational and technical controls
  • Provide DoD/NIST RMF Operations Support and common administrative support
  • Review, edit, comment, and analyze documents, and recommend corrections/changes
  • Prepare briefs and present oral presentations to update the Government on the status of actions
  • Provide CONUS and OCONUS TDY travel support

Candidate Requirements: Experience may be used in lieu of higher education. Candidates without advanced degree must have 10+ years’ relevant experience, including IT operations/service management experience. Candidates with a BS in a related field must have 7+ years’ relevant experience. Candidates with an MA/MS degree (preferred) must have 5+ years’ relevant experience.
