Job Description:
The AV Fabrication Engineer – Intermediate installs, pull, terminates, and tests all AV type cables, connectors, and interfaces. This role requires the ability to install projection screens, plasma TVs, and different types of speakers. The Intermediate AV Fabrication Engineer will also support installation of AV systems on client sites; read blueprints and wire AV racks; and manage AV projects with various models and makes of equipment. This position must demonstrate a thorough understanding and working knowledge of testing, analyses, and corrective action on systems, networks, hardware, and software in a Professional Audio/Video environment. The AV Fabrication Engineer must also know and understand all wire and connector types on AV-related cable. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide AV support through AV equipment and Installation.
- Process tickets according to priority levels established within t helpdesk system; develop professional working relationships with installation staff and other team members to better understand Customer requirements.
- Upon identification of critical risks that could cause immediate operational impact, formally notify Customer via email within 1 hour; include description of risk, potential impact, and recommended mitigation plan.
- Resolve critical issues within 4 hours of initial identification.
- Advise functional users on new technologies within areas of responsibility; recommend training and education for users based on analysis of assistance call trends.
- Keep current with trends, best practices, and technology shifts relative to area of responsibility to ensure Customer stays current.
